Eunan O’Kane says manager Nathan Jones’ passion helped play a part in persuading him to sign for the Town.

The 28-year-old Republic of Ireland midfielder has joined on loan from Sky Bet Championship club Leeds United until January, and in his first interview for iFollow Hatters, he said: “He’s a very passionate guy, the gaffer, and he talked to me about how he likes to do things here, the type of football they like to play and he felt it would suit me.

“Hopefully I’ll be able to add to the team as well, and that’s what I’ve come in to do. Hopefully we can pick up some points and add to the group that’s already here.”

The last time O’Kane played League One football, he was part of the Bournemouth side that won promotion en route to reaching the Premier League.

He’s hoping to help contribute to similar success during his spell at Kenilworth Road, which is due to run until January 10th.

“League One was very kind to me last time,” said O’Kane. “We had a really good run at Bounemouth and got promoted, so hopefully this group is going to achieve something similar in the very near future.

“There is (a feel-good factor here from last season’s promotion), and it can be a powerful thing if you get on a roll and pick up results early in the season. It can carry you on and spur you on to another one.

“Ideally for the club, that’ll be what happens this season and hopefully I can do my part in helping them.”
