The hard work starts now! Hatters' Heritage will shortly announce a partner who will be tasked with the design and build of a comprehensive website to include match reports, programmes and photographs for every competitive game played, together with player biographies plus audio and video recordings of player and supporter memories. Full statistics of all games played, which we already hold, will migrate across to the website in due course.
Hatters' Heritage will be leading on the delivering of the project, which is funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) in the East of England. The HLF award of £99,300 will enable the project to develop the new website resource, improve the collection of objects related to the club's history and enable local people to come together and learn new skills.
We will, of course, be looking to involve members in this mammoth task and will be encouraging volunteers as the website takes shape.
To become a member of Hatters' Heritage an annual subscription will cost £10, or £2 for under-16s. If you are interested, please contact our secretary Phil Hucklesby at philippe.hucklesby@gmail.com.
The Heritage Lottery Fund distributes the heritage share of National Lottery funding, supporting a wide variety of projects across the UK. Since its foundation in 1994, thanks to National Lottery players it has awarded £7.1billion to over 40,000 projects. It believes that understanding, valuing and sharing our heritage brings people together, inspires pride in communities and boosts investment in local economies.
