Hatters’ Heritage was formed under the watchful eye of Club Historian Roger Wash to encourage the preservation and appreciation of the heritage and history of Luton Town Football Club. The volunteer run charity has been awarded funding for the digitisation of an archive of over 35,000 items which is designated ‘at risk’ by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
In the years ahead, a comprehensive website will showcase match reports, programmes and photographs for every competitive game played by the Hatters since 1885, together with player biographies, audio and video recordings of players’ and supporters’ memories.
None of this will be possible without the support of fans. By joining the project you’ll be safeguarding this nationally important collection, enabling local people to access their history and joining a group of passionate Hatters’ volunteers!
Look out for more opportunities to volunteer between now and the end of the year.
