GRAEME JONES WANTS SAME STANDARDS AS CARDIFF MATCH AGAINST SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY

Town manager Graeme Jones wants to see his side replicate the same effort levels tonight against Sheffield Wednesday as he saw on Saturday afternoon against Cardiff City.

The former Wigan Athletic assistant boss was adamant the Hatters should have taken something from the game, having gone onto be beaten 1-0 by Neil Harris’ team.

Jones said: “It’s not been an enjoyable period, because you don’t want to keep losing football matches. But I have said before, our standards will remain the same, we will make sure the players’ standards remain the same – I am only looking to the next game, because that’s the only thing I can control in my job.

“But I am a very experienced person in these types of situations and we have got to keep the standards high and keep working hard and I am sure it will turn.

“Obviously I am not going to reveal the team because we have got two important games coming up. Everybody wants change, in life and in football. Everything is short-term.

“The performance, from the players that played, should have got us a victory [against Cardiff] and we need to remember that. I know many, many people who have learnt their lessons by making mistakes.

“Do you get an opportunity to make it better, do you get an opportunity to put it right? We all make mistakes, we are human beings. So there will be a bit of continuity on Wednesday night.”

With the gaffer saying he has a fully fit squad to pick from ahead of tonight’s fixture against the Owls, the 49-year-old has a selection headache.

“It’s not just George Moncur, Danny Hylton is in good shape and I have got Sonny Bradley fit again – the captain of the club. So I have got options, I have got choices which I haven’t had previously and that’s a pleasing aspect.”
