The former Wigan Athletic assistant manager revealed defender Sonny Bradley was back involved in training today, having been unavailable for the game against West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns last Saturday.
Jones said: “Sonny joined in today so we have lots of numbers available, apart from Brendan Galloway we’ve got a fully fit squad - the first time I think since Brentford. So we’re talking ten weeks and I’m delighted because we’re going into a three-game week and for the first time, we have got options to be competitive in three games.
“We just have different problems now because we have to pick 11 and pick 18, but that is what I’ve wanted all season, so it’s good to be in that position.
“We’re going to need Sonny because the three-game weeks everybody knows have been really, really demanding and I think pre-transfer window, I don’t think we have dealt with them very well, that is the truth.
“We’ve learned a lot of lessons and we’re going to attempt this three-game week in a slightly different way.”
Alternatively, if the 28-year-old is unable to play, Cameron Carter-Vickers has pleased the manager during his short time at the club after joining on loan from Tottenham Hotspur in the January transfer window.
“I like what I’ve seen,” Jones explained. “He’s a rock and I mean a rock, he’s a big old unit and he’s got that resistance and that resilience that we needed and that we’ve been looking for. I’ve seen improvement in Sonny and Matty in recent weeks, Martin’s getting there and all of a sudden, you’ve got some good options.”
With 16 games to go, the gaffer wants to see his side kick on now there is more competition for places.
“We need to win football matches and accumulate points. I’ve just got more players now to do that so I’d rather be optimistic and look ahead, it was only two games ago that we won a really important game at Kenilworth Road so we’re hoping to use that energy and those dynamics and do it again.”
