Just days after signing a new contract with the club, Osho started his first league fixture for the Town and impressed alongside Kal Naismith in front of a packed Kenilworth Road.
“It doesn’t really get much better than that as a first day. Playing in front of the fans is one thing, delivering a 3-0 win in the first game is amazing.
“I heard so, so much about it for the last year and finally getting to play in front of the fans, it was honestly electric so I’m just happy to be here.”
With three centre-backs missing from the matchday squad, Osho admitted that he was ready to seize his opportunity following two loan spells away from the club last season.
“I think last year I just needed to get some experience, get some games under my belt. Now just coming into the squad after pre-season, I just want to push everyone and try and get in the team like I have done today.
“This is my home now so I just want to kick on. We have a really good team this season and we really want to see if we can achieve something.”
All three starting forwards got themselves on the scoresheet yesterday and by his own admission, the 22-year-old said they are a ‘nightmare’ to train against!
“I wouldn’t want to play against them if I was on the other team. Getting the clean sheet is obviously good as a defensive unit which starts from the front. Attackers pressed really well which just made our job easier so it was a good day.
“It is a nightmare coming against them in training, but it pushes us to get to that next level every time we train. This is what we have trained for, for the last six weeks so I am happy.
“It’s such a relief as a defender when goals go in. It kind of puts the game to bed so we just had to make sure we were still alert at the back, which we were, and it was a great day all around.”
