The Hatters went down 2-1 to the Blues but Forbes was full of praise for his young side despite the result.
“I’m super proud of the boys,” he said afterwards. “For playing at Kenilworth Road and the changes that that brings.
“Plus, the opposition - having previously been beaten by them earlier in the season we knew what was ahead of us.
“But from minute one to minute 97 I can’t fault the attitude and application of the boys. I thought we should have been more ruthless in front of goal which could have seen us 2-0 up at half-time.
“However, we passed the ball well and went toe-to-toe with a team that was assembled for several millions, so I can’t be more proud.”
