As ‘One Of Our Own’, the Luton-born 20-year-old appreciates the support given to him by every section of the Kenilworth Road faithful since his emergence from the successful youth team of 2015-16, not least from the group formed in 2014 as the official voice of Hatters who live with disabilities.

A Hatter since the age of seven, James wanted to give something back to those fans who have sung his name since his memorable debut against Aston Villa just over two years ago.

As he approaches a century of senior appearances for the club, the England Under-20 international said: “I am delighted to be the newly appointed patron of the Luton Town Disabled Supporters Association.

“As a Luton boy, it is great to see the club working with supporters from all backgrounds and being totally inclusive.

“The LTDSA are a vital part of the Luton Town supporters’network, helping to support fans with a range of disabilities and make sure that everyone can enjoy a matchday at Kenilworth Road.

The LTDSA chairman Richard Hill, secretary Allan Drummond and their fellow members were delighted that JJ volunteered to fill a valuable link role between Nathan Jones’ squad and the Town’s wonderful support.

Richard said: “At the Luton Town Disabled Supporters Association we are delighted that the club have chosen to recognise the International Day of Persons With Disabilities.

“December 3rd is an important day for the disabled community, as it gives us an opportunity to allow people to highlight and reflect on people within our local communities who live with disability on a daily basis.

“As we approach the festive season, a time traditionally used to show goodwill to our families, friends and neighbours, we should use today to show goodwill to people with disability.

“I challenge you to knock on that neighbour’s door, who you know is disabled, and just offer some help and support – it would make a world of difference.

“To champion the cause for disabled supporters, it is essential that we raise our own profile, as such we are absolutely delighted that James Justin has agreed to be the patron of the LTDSA and we hugely appreciate his time and support.

“For us to have one of the club’s key players in that position is testament to the work that the DSA has done and is planning for the future. It is also a hugely positive refection on the club as a whole.

“It just enhances its reputation as a club that welcomes inclusion and diversity in every sense.”
