The Town topped Southern Group F – picking up seven points from three games, as they defeated Tottenham Hotspur Under-21s and Barnet on penalties for two bonus points after drawing in 90 minutes, and beating AFC Wimbledon 2-1 away.
Tomorrow will be exactly a year to the day when the Hatters defeated Swindon Town 3-2 away at this stage of the competition, before going on to reach the semi-finals, only to be beaten 3-2 by Sky Bet League One outfit Oxford United.
Tonight's visitors are one of only four Premier League Under-21 outfits to reach this stage of the trophy out of the 16 that were invited, finishing second in their group behind the Robins.
THE GAFFER SAYS:
On playing three games in the space of a week: "We have got three games this week, in which everyone is going to play and get involved. We want to move forward in three competitions, three big, big games, so you go as strong as you can in the first one and then Tuesday we will make sure everyone gets game time, but some will double up."
On Harry Cornick and James Collins probably not being involved tonight: "It's a bit of mystery one really, Harry trained really hard on Wednesday, Thursday he had off and Friday he came in with a sore hamstring. So we didn't take any precautions. He travelled up to Gateshead, he's had treatment and feels a lot better. Just a real random one really.
"It's unfortunate really because of the games we have, we need a full squad this week and we picked up a few niggles last week. We didn't take any gambles with any of our players so hopefully we will have him and Collo available for Saturday."
WHO?
One of just four of the EPPP Category One academy sides, alongside Leicester City, Swansea City and Chelsea to make the knockout stages, West Ham looked set to top their group, but fell to a 2-0 defeat against Wycombe Wanderers last Tuesday.
It will be a return to Kenilworth Road for Terry Westley, the former Hatters boss who manages the young Hammers side. The 58-year-old took the reins here in the spring of 1995, stepping up from youth coach after the departure of David Pleat, and oversaw a 16th place finish in what is now the Championship before parting ways in December the same year.
WHEN AND WHERE?
Kick-off is at 7:45pm on Tuesday 5th December at Kenilworth Road.
