Morris was introduced as one of three 'game-changers' Nathan Jones turned to off the bench and he combined with fellow substitute Cameron Jerome to make a decisive impact.
“I’m buzzing to be off the mark,” Morris admitted after the game.” Obviously it’s a good feeling but the most important thing is that we got three points.
“The gaffer asks his gamechangers to come off the bench and effect the game in a positive manner. Thankfully me and CJ (Cameron Jerome) were fortunate enough to do that. I thought CJ was excellent when he came on, he made a real impact on the game.”
Describing the goal with his own eyes, the 26-year-old said: “CJ has seen me in a good area and he’s got the quality to put it exactly where I wanted it, in a one versus one situation which I thrive off, so I was fortunate enough to take him down the by-line, put it on my left foot and slot it in across the keeper.”
Not only scoring his first goal of the season but recording a valuable first three points as well, the striker believes that everything came together at the right time and on display was a true Luton performance.
“It’s everything in one! It’s a huge thing getting three points. We’ve had good performances previously this season and haven’t got the points but it’s nice for it to come together today.
“That says a lot about the squad we have. To come back from a performance like that on Tuesday night, then next game show what we’re about in a tough place.
“It feels like that has been coming, especially the Preston and Birmingham games. We haven’t been getting the rub of the green and I think today it has come together for us and I think that is how we’re capable of performing every week.”
Finally on the 609 travelling supporters, the former Barnsley man said: “Today and Bristol, I have been surprised by the away following, it’s absolutely fantastic. The club means a lot to these fans and we’re looking to repay that on the pitch every week.”
