Midfielder returns but Chong, Walsh and Morris missing

The Town will welcome back Shandon Baptiste to the squad for Saturday’s trip to Sheffield United.

The summer signing has missed the last four games after a hamstring injury ruled him since the home defeat to QPR at the end of August.

Manager Rob Edwards will, however, be without the services of midfielder Liam Walsh after his red card in Tuesday’s 2-2 draw with Oxford United.

The boss confirmed that Saturday’s game with the Blades will come too soon for both Carlton Morris and Tahith Chong but are likely to return after the international break.

Tom Krauß is fine after being withdrawn in the early stages of the second half on Tuesday with Edwards confirming the German was exhausted at half-time.

Edwards said Jacob Brown, Marvelous Nakamba and Victor Moses will continue to have their involvement managed as the trio work their way back to 100 per cent match sharpness after returning to the first team.

On the test the Hatters face at Bramall Lane against a Blades side who are unbeaten this season, the manager said: “They have a settled team and a consistent way of playing and it will be a big challenge.

“It’s a great place to go and play, there’s a great atmosphere and we have a good record there so we can lean on that in these moments.

“It was tough the other night [against Oxford] but on reflection and after processing and reviewing it, we’ve had a good couple of days and I’m looking forward to it.”
