Aribim Pepple | "I'm hoping to excite the fans"

The smile says it all. Aribim Pepple couldn’t hide his joy after penning a permanent deal at Luton Town!

It has long been an aspiration to play football in England and after moving away with his family at the age of five, the 19-year-old is finally back on a permanent basis - with his transfer from Canadian Premier League side Cavalry FC subject to international clearance.

“I have a younger brother as well and both of us always talked about our goals,” Pepple said when he sat down to talk to www.lutontown.co.uk.

“Everyone knows the Premier League and even the Championship is very popular in Canada, everyone wants to go over to Europe, especially England because of the footballing history of this country. When I got the opportunity to come back, it was an easy decision."

The history of his new club is also one Aribim is familiar with having watched on during the Town’s play-off matches last season.

“When the play-offs were coming around and Luton were in it, I saw a lot of articles about the rapid rise from non-league all the way up and so I read a bit about it. It’s funny how things work out, I’ve ended up here now! It’s great and hopefully we can make the next step into the Premier League.”

Pepple is confident that he too can adapt and grow as a player at Kenilworth Road, especially after his initial chats with staff at the club and seeing the facilities at his disposal.

“I met Jay (Socik) and the analyst crew, I told my agent right away that the information they have about me, they know more about me than I know about myself! Instantly I was hooked and then talking to the gaffer, seeing what the long-term plan is, it seems like the perfect spot for me.

“I keep saying every time I see the grass, it might sound weird but it’s wonderful. We don’t have that kind of grass in Canada! The facilities everywhere are great and I’m so excited to get started and be around this building day-in, day-out. I know it’s going to help me improve as a player rapidly.”

But what can supporters expect to see from Aribim Pepple?

“The biggest thing about me first of all is goals. That is my goal every time I step on the field, to score and obviously win.

“That is the biggest way I can help winning, by scoring, but then I’m also a strong, quick and powerful centre-forward who likes to get in behind but also use my body to hold up the ball. I’m hoping I can excite the fans when I step on the field.”
