It means the duo will definitely miss this weekend’s Premier League opener at Brighton and Hove Albion.
“It’s going to be few months before we see them, unfortunately,” Edwards said at his pre-match press call on Thursday afternoon.
“We’re really disappointed about that, and so are they, but we will support them to get back as soon as they can.”
The pair join defenders Gabe Osho and Reece Burke on the sidelines, however the boss explained there is encouraging news on Burke, with the former Hull man nearing a return to fitness.
“Reece is progressing well, he could be back by next week,” said Edwards. “That’s the good news. We are there or thereabouts, it’s just those two that we weren’t expecting.”
