In a clash against fellow play-off contenders, the two sides cancelled each other out in a competitive fixture at The Den – though the point did continue the Hatters’ fine form away from home.

Reflecting on another resolute defensive display in South London, Bell said to BBC Three Counties Radio: “I’m so proud. To get clean sheet after clean sheet, it’s good for us and it’s good for our confidence. We feel so strong, solid and defending is relentless and something we love doing.

“As long as we can keep doing that, it makes his [Ethan Horvath] job a lot easier and we’re going to try our hardest to do it in every game we do play and give ourselves a solid base. You know what they say, in order to win games, clean sheets help a lot.”

Asked to pinpoint the reason behind Town’s success on the road, the defender admitted: “Everyone just wants to work hard for each other. It’s a great group and we just love working hard so as long as we keep that hard work and drive, it’s going to help us a lot.

“Defensively we’re strong and we’re feeling very good so to keep more clean sheets and get something from the game is definitely positive,” Bell continued.

“They’re a solid team too defensively so we knew it was going to be tough, the atmosphere here as well makes it a difficult place to come but we’re happy with what we did here. We know we didn’t play our best football but it’s positive to get something from the game.

“We keep getting clean sheet after clean sheet so it’s good for us. Each game we understand each other even more and how we play. The partnership is good and we’re happy with how things are going.”

Not only on Monday against Blackpool but for the rest of the campaign, the Jamaica international is hoping that supporters will continue to become the 12th man and spur the players on with six league games raining.

“It’s not just me but the rest of the boys will say that the fans have been amazing all season. If they can bring the same energy they did against Watford, then it’s going to help us massively.”
