Jacob Brown’s first-half strike condemned the Town to a first loss at Kenilworth Road in seven matches but post-match, Campbell said: “Looking back at it we should have got something from the game. First half we were a bit off it, not as aggressive as we wanted to be, and we were lacking that bit of quality in the final third.
“It is football, part and parcel of the game,” the midfielder continued. “Sometimes you can score four or five and then you can struggle to find that bit of quality. We will look back at it, put the work in at the training ground and make sure we come back into the next game firing.”
Campbell marked his return to the side with a Man of the Match performance, as selected by match sponsor Heineken, but he was disheartened it wasn’t after a positive result.
“It is always difficult when you don’t win the game so I’m a bit disappointed because you put so much into as a team that you want to get something from it, but I’m just glad to be back in and playing, trying to do my best for the team.
“I’ve been training, just itching to get back playing and I got a chance today. Hopefully I put a good shift in and done what I needed to do.”
