The 31-year-old was named in the PFA Sky Bet League Two Team of the Year, the EFL Sky Bet League Two Team of the Year, he picked up the Supporters' Player of the Year and Internet Player of the Year at the annual Luton Town Supporters' Trust Presentation Evening to cap off what has been an outstanding season.

He said: "I am delighted. It's been a great year for the team, I think the team has been absolutely brilliant throughout. There has been so many amazing performances throughout the year, so I don't really see my awards as individual awards, as no individual is anything without the team in my opinion.

"These awards have definitely been a career highlight. To be voted by managers, players and supporters – to be noticed and honoured by all of them means you must be doing something right.

"Obviously the team has been doing well and if it hadn't then I don't think anybody would have been recognised. But everybody is doing their job, the club is in a great place from top to bottom, so I am pleased."

The Irishman has found himself wearing the captain's armband for a majority of the campaign in the absence of usual captain Scott Cuthbert, with the former Leyton Orient man suffering a groin injury back in November which kept him out for a few months.

Sheehan has done well wearing the armband – the defender proud of what he has achieved this campaign.

"Scott is the club captain and has done an excellent job," he continued. "When I have had to stand in it's always been an honour, no doubt about it. To get promoted was the main aim so we're delighted about that."

The EA Sports Ultimate Team card caused a lot controversy at the training ground today as the players' discussed Sheehan's stats, with Alan himself unsure on some of them.

He continued: "The pace 72 would be very questionable! Maybe more like 7.2! I think maybe they all are a bit questionable! Passing could be a bit higher, pace could be a bit slower, but I am happy enough!"

Well done Sheez!
